“Where did you get that beautiful dress?” “Maytag, of course!”

And now for something completely different…

One would never think of appliance parts in the world of high fashion, yet the Product Runway show held earlier this year in Seattle proved that even the most boring, random piece of an appliance can become inspired haute couture!

A black backless dress plus its matching jacket were augmented by anti-slip warming drawer mats, dishwasher sound insulation, and a rotary iron cover. Roast probe wires served as shoulder straps.   The bodice was bejeweled with glittering glass tiles.  The outfit was accessorized with a handbag consisting of a vent hood filter, appliance screws, vacuum bags, and more tiles.  Stainless steel earrings completed the ensemble.
