Dyson Sues Vax over Vac

According to an Appliance Magazine article sourcing the Guardian, Dyson is taking legal action against Chinese-owned Vax over its Mach Zen model, claiming that they infringed on the registered design of the original Dyson vacuum from fifteen years ago.

Vax has declined to comment on the case.

This is not the first time Dyson has defended what it considers to be its intellectual property and design rights.  In 2006 they won their claim against Qualtex for selling vacuum cleaner parts that were visually identical to Dyson parts.

Electrolux Win Green House Design Award

It must be award season in the Appliance world again, as Electrolux has won another award.

This time, from the Housewares Design Awards Program.  One of its vacuum models, the UltraSilencer Green, is the winner of this prestigious award.  It is made from 55% recycled plastic and runs on reduced electricity, decreasing noise.

Electrolux Eureka Vacuum Wins Good Design Award

Electrolux has won a Good Design Award for its Eureka Zuum Z-series vacuums.

Electrolux was presented the award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, along with the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
